More Palettes
Pour ma meilleur amie. Even if none of them really appeal to you, I hope they at least give you some inspiration.

Round 2
I’m off to my interviews at Regis University in a couple of hours. I’m not nearly as nervous or excited this time. Just calm and collected. It helps that I’ll probably only end up going to this school if I don’t get in at CU - and I still haven’t heard from them, by the way. I bet those bastards are just reveling in my torture.
It’s also just about time for round 2 of apartment shopping. I almost put in an application at Florence Square, but then I talked to Lisa and Sam and decided I should probably see more places before I make a commitment. My apartment locater agent (oh la la!) is making appointments for me this time. Hopefully I can find something I like where I won’t have to lie about my student status on the application.
Wish me luck!

I had a personal victory today: I ran two whole miles without resting! I don’t think I’ve ever been able to do that before, not even in high school. That gets me almost a third of the way through the 10k I’m doing in May! Only 4.2 more miles to go.
Hm. Also just learned that my blogging software converts typed smilies into emoticons. Who knew?

Here is the color scheme I’m using to decorate my (yes, still as-of-yet nonexistent but within reach) new apartment.
Preliminaries
Holy crap am I exhausted. I looked at apartments for 6 hours today, and so far I’ve only found two that I like. Guess what? Apparently, I have expensive taste (surprise!).
This place: ![]()
is only a mile or two from campus (about a 10-minute bus ride - I don’t really plan on driving to campus much) and across the street from a beautiful new library. It has tons of amenities (fitness center, computer room, club house with pool table, washer/dryer hook-ups, garages). It is also in a not-so-great area of town (i.e. pawn shops and beauty salons abound). It’d be $1541.50 to move in, with monthly charges after that being $744.
This place:
is in the middle of downtown (!) but probably about an hour’s bus ride away from campus. It has hardwood floors and, of course, the to-die-for location, but none of the amenities of the other place. It’d be $1501 to move in, with monthly charges after that being $651.
So, what do you guys think?

Wow. I am in some kind of shopping frenzy, buying stuff for my as-of-yet nonexistent new apartment. I am also in a purging frenzy, throwing away, giving away, or stashing in my mom’s basement all the things that are just cluttering up my space right now. Like this coin-sorting bank that I bought with my allowance in 1993 that no longer even works? Out! Wizard’s-hat-shaped incense burner my cousin gave me for Christmas six years ago? History. Bulletin board bought on “brownie points” back in 1997 that I then covered in stickers? Adios.
Here for your viewing pleasure are some of the things I have purchased in the last two days. Sorry about the messy layout, but I have yet to figure out how wordpress ticks when it comes to pictures.
