News Brief (Emphasis on Brief)
Sorry about the absence, but life isn’t all that exciting these days. If you think about it, I went from having a full-time job, a part-time job, and a boyfriend to only having a part-time job. That’s not to say that life isn’t enjoyable (believe me, I am very much enjoying having a little free time), it’s just not particularly eventful lately. But there are bits of news here and there:
I got interviews at both CU and Regis. Woohoo! Mom took me shopping for an interview outfit and I am now the owner of a nice suit. I guess I should know in a month, month and a half whether I got in or not. Please cross all fingers.
I am now a brunette! I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to put up with dying my hair, so I figured I may as well try everything before I go back to blonde. I think it looks great. Hopefully pictures will come soon.
Wow, is that really all the news I have? Jesus, I really gotta get out of the house more.

Well, I’m back from vacation but I feel anything but rested. Two weeks of dealing with parents, canceled and delayed flights, and days and days of rain have left me exhausted. Next time I’m just going on a cruise.
Also, two weeks of delicious restaurant food have tipped the scales much further than I am comfortable with, so today marks the beginning of my third go-round with Weight Watchers. Maybe this time I can manage to keep up the momentum to lose more than 10 pounds! I don’t consider this a new year’s resolution, though… more like a newly single resolution. I think the end of a relationship is always a good time to re-evaluate your life, and mine decidedly needs fewer cookies and more gym time.
I did make a resolution, though: watch less TV. I definitely plan on NOT getting cable when I move in a few months, and I’m seriously considering yanking the cable cord out of the wall until then. I waste way too much time watching things that don’t really interest me. Alex, wonderful human being that he is, has downloaded every episode of pretty much all my favorite shows, so if the need strikes I can always watch one instead of mindlessly flipping channels for an hour.
Oh, good news: I got an interview at CU. I did a little digging and found out that they’re interviewing about 125 people and they’ll be accepting 40-45. So all things being equal, I guess I have about a 1 in 3 chance. Of course, all things aren’t equal… I just have no way of knowing where I stand. Cross your fingers.
