Happy Halloween
Well, it looks like I won’t be having much of a Halloween this year. Thursday morning I have an exam in my first class and a seven-page paper due in my second class. I’m hoping to God that I can finish the paper by Monday night so I can study my ass off Tuesday and Wednesday nights. So yeah, not exactly a festive week.
I did, however, get to carve a pumpkin this weekend, for the first time in about ten years. I had a fever all day Saturday from getting a tetanus booster and Dan surprised me with a pumpkin (along with my ramen and ibuprofen - thanks, honey!). I named him Count Pumpkula.
Not bad for my rusty pumpkin-carving skills. Count Pumpkula also provided me with some very delicious seeds to roast, and roasted pumpkin seeds are one of my favorite snacks of all time, so I’m definitely a happy girl. Now if only I can find some unsuspecting child to mug so I can get my hands on some of those candy bones and maybe some reese’s cups, I may be able to survive past Thursday. Wish me luck.
Rant: The Rockies
< rant >So the Rockies made it to the World Series this year, as you may or may not have heard. (If you’re the kind of person I usually befriend, you probably have not heard, nor do you care.) I can’t go more than 23 seconds without hearing someone sitting near me and/or walking past me on the street talking about it and about trying to get tickets to the World Series. If you can’t tell, I’m so over it.
It probably wouldn’t bother me as much if the Rockies normally had any fan base to speak of. Yeah, I’m happy for them. But it seems as though suddenly EVERYone is a fan. Please, spare me. Let the people who actually care about it get the tickets and everyone else please go back to your lives.

I had the most realistic dream last night that I gave birth to a baby boy. He had dark curly hair and he was amazingly smart and I wasn’t even disappointed that he wasn’t a girl. The scariest part of the dream was that it all seemed so normal. I better not be pregnant.

Cute gay boy getting off the bus behind me: “Look at you, in those boots!”
Me, grinning: “Like I would ever wear flip flops to class.”
Cute gay boy: “Get it, girl!”
