Further Adventures In Laundry

July 31st, 2006

Maybe my washing machine is mad at me because I haven’t used it in a couple months, but it is refusing to dispense cold water. Okay, well… it trickles cold water. I’m sorry, but I don’t have time to wait around for TWO HOURS while it fills up, and after my formerly ivory-colored dress with green trim came out a pale green dress with green trim after a run using warm water, I have been forced to improvise. So guess how many buckets of water it takes to fill up my washing machine. Anyone? SEVEN. Seven trips to the bathtub, seven fills, seven hauls back to the laundry room, seven lifts of the four thousand pound bucket, and seven pours. So annoyed. If I wanted a workout tonight, I would have gone to the damn gym. But I guess hell hath no fury like a washing machine scorned.

Archaeological Discoveries

July 30th, 2006

I just sorted through my overflowing “laundry basket,” which is actually a 42-gallon garbage can (traditional hampers just don’t offer enough volume for my extensive collection), and discovered clothes that I haven’t seen in two months. Wow. Perhaps I need to cut down on the shopping just a little bit.

Fun With Photo Booth

July 21st, 2006

So I got a new laptop and I’m completely in love with it. I could spend (and let’s be honest, have spent) hours playing with photo booth. My favorites so far:

Seriously, so many hours of amusement are to be had.

Update

Yep, I got my A! Maybe 2006 will be a 4.0 year for me. Wouldn’t that just rock my socks off.

School’s Out

July 8th, 2006

Today I got smashed in the middle of the day and was sober again by midafternoon. It’s a really strange feeling… kind of like it’s been two days instead of just one. But what can I say, summer school ended today so I felt kind of obligated.

I’m about 99% sure I’ll get an A in the class, but my anal nature is taking over and I’m going to obsess about it until I get my final grade back. Thankfully the turnaround is pretty short in the summer so I should know by Tuesday. As happy as I am that I’m done with it, I’m going to miss my teacher a little bit. She was one of those really cool professors that only come around once in a while.

Boy, making up for those first couple years of slacking off is a lot of hard work. I only have three semesters left to get my GPA up as high as it will go. I guess it never occurred to me while I was skipping class freshman year that I might be making it difficult to get into grad school. But I suppose college is all about learning lessons, right?
